CAPS Staff: Recent ICE raid in O’Neill

By Patricia Cerda-Lizarraga, PhD, psychologist at Counseling and Psychological Services

Counseling and Psychological Services staff are dismayed and saddened by the raid that took place in O’Neill, Nebraska. We are aware of the negative impact that these raids have on families and their communities. Having this happen in our state is a reminder that the immigration policies in our nation are having tangible consequences that negatively affect many peoples’ lives.

We are aware that UNL students may be experiencing mixed emotions of anger, sadness and frustration given the recent raid in O’Neill. Whether this is impacting you directly or indirectly Counseling and Psychological Services is here to help.
